You need a Smart Home hub that supports Matter via Thread.
The Nuki Smart Lock 4th Generation communicates via Thread. This network technology not only makes your Smart Home more stable but also energy-efficient. Matter via Wi-Fi consumes too much energy and is therefore not supported.
However, you only need one Matter hub that supports Thread.
A Smart Home hub supporting Matter via Wi-Fi cannot be directly connected to the Smart Lock. Once the Smart Lock is successfully connected to the Matter hub via Thread, it can communicate with another Matter hub in the same network.
All existing cloud-based integrations, such as Google, Amazon, IFTTT, or local integrations (MQTT, Bridge API), continue to work as before, either via Wi-Fi or the Nuki Bridge.
