How long are permissions valid for guests?

By default, access times start and end based on the times you define in your property management software for bookings.

By default, access times start and end based on the times you define in your property management software for bookings. If the booking changes, the access permission changes as well automatically.
This means your guests can enter the accommodation from the earliest check-in time and access is automatically revoked after the check-out time.

However, guests often request early check-in or late check-out without changing the booking time. Therefore, options are available to set access times for guests individually.

Change access times for individual bookings

You can change the access times for a specific booking to allow guests a one-time early check-in or late check-out.

Here's how to change the access times:

  1. Go to your Nuki Web account, select "Short-term Rental" and click on the listing. Existing bookings for this property will be displayed on the right.
  2. Click on the "Edit" icon for the relevant booking. A popup with the current check-in and check-out times will appear.
  3. Enter the new Check-In and/or the Check-Out time and click "Save" to complete the update of permissions.

Change access times for all bookings on a listing

You can change the access times of a listing to allow early check-ins or late check-outs for all bookings of this listing.

Here's how to change default access times:

  1. Go to your Nuki Web account and select "Short-term Rental".
  2. Open the "Settings" of the listing and enable the “Change default access times” option.
    Note: If this option is not displayed correctly, clearing your cookies and refreshing the page resolve the issue.
  3. Enter the new times for the Check-In and the Check-Out.

The new access times will be applied to all new bookings for this property. Currently existing active bookings must be individually changed in the "Bookings" section.

Example

Your property can be rented through Airbnb. The check-in time is set at 2:00 PM, and the check-out time at 10:00 AM.
Since the access permissions are created as per the booking time, your guests do not have access to the property outside of the time frame.

Your guests ask to check in before the default check-in time at 11:00 AM. To enable early check-in, change the check-in time directly for that specific booking. The new time will apply only to this booking.

Now you decide to allow all your guests to enter the property at 11:00 AM in the future.
In this case you need to change the default check-in time in the settings for this listing. For all future bookings of this property, the check-in time will now be 11:00 AM.
