Opener configuration with digital and analog intercoms

The Nuki Opener is compatible with numerous digital and analog intercom systems. Analogue systems have several wires connected to them. Bus-based systems are digital and typically connected with only two wires. The Opener treats them in fundamentally different ways:

  • Analogue systems are actuated by shortening contacts.
  • Bus systems are actuated by replaying recorded signals. The Opener needs a phase to record the door opening and ring signals. This is done during the initial setup or whenever you choose “Configure Opener”.
  • Mixed systems are partially analogue and partially bus based. Unknown systems of this type can only be connected as “other doors”.

Often, the range from your front door to the Opener is too large for a Bluetooth signal. Therefore, we recommend combining the Opener with a Bridge to bring it online. With remote control, you can open your door with the Opener from afar.
