Locking with iOS 14 widgets

With iOS 14 you have the great possibility to freely place App widgets.

You can place the Nuki iOS widget on all screens and decide individually in which area it is best for you to use. For example, you can use it on the home screen or as part of a widget stack.
The Nuki iOS widget can be customised and adapted to your needs. Two sizes and two different types are available.

Note: Of course, you can also use the locks and actions widgets in parallel with the new iOS 14 widget.

Widget types

Two different types of Nuki iOS widgets are available for a comfortable and individual usability. These offer you either the possibility to use the widget for a single Nuki device or for multiple Nuki devices.

Widget sizes

In addition to the two widget types, you have the option to choose between two sizes. You can either select one frequently performed action in a small widget or combine several actions in a medium widget.
The medium widget shows up to four actions in one widget and allows you to create a link to the Nuki app. Depending on your individual needs, the link can lead you directly to the “Manage device” section, user management or the activity log for your Nuki device.

Setup

The setup of the new Nuki iOS 14 widget can be done in the same way as you are used to with your other iOS 14 widgets:

    1. Tap and hold an empty space on your iOS 14 home screen until app icons start jiggling.
    2. Tap “+” in the top-left to open the widgets menu.
    3. Select the Nuki widget and your preferred widget size.
    4. By tapping “Add widget”, the widget will be added to the homescreen.
    5. After you're finished, choose “Done”

After adding the widget, you can configure it individually. To do so, tap and hold the widget and choose “Edit widget”. Now define if you want to use actions only for one device or for several of your Nuki devices by selecting the widget type.

You can learn more about using widgets on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch on the Apple support website.
