A high number of unlatching actions impacts battery life.
If you have a knob or bar on the outside of your door, and therefore the latch is pulled frequently ("open door"), battery life may be significantly reduced. Pulling the latch involves an increased amount of force. At the same time, the distance that has to be covered to open it is also longer than for an unlocking action.
