The Door Sensor consists of a magnet and a magnetic sensor. Both the sensor and the magnet are mounted on the inside of your door. The sensor is affixed to the door frame. The magnet is attached to the door. The Nuki App guides you through the setup of your Door Sensor.

The Smart Lock 2.0 includes a built-in door sensor (in beta) with separate installation instructions.
Mounting & installation instructions for the Door Sensor
The Door Sensor consists of two components: a magnet and a sensor. You can reduce external influences by positioning it ideally on the door and door frame. You can find installation examples here.
- Preparation: Before starting the installation, clean both the door and door frame to ensure a secure mounting setup. Also make sure that the surface is flat so that the mounting plate rests directly on the surface.

Attach the mounting plate: Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the sensor. This cover serves as a mounting plate for the sensor. Remove the protective foil from the mounting plate and stick it to the door frame.
The sensor and magnet are mounted on the side on which you open the door and not in the area of the door hinges.
Do not attach the sensor itself to the mounting plate yet.
If the Door Sensor is already mounted, detach the sensor from the mounting plate. - Attach the magnet: The magnet serves as a counterpart to the sensor. Stick it directly to the inside of the door.

Connect the Door Sensor: Open the Nuki App and go to the main menu (top left, three yellow bars). Now select ”Manage devices” > ”Nuki Door Sensor”.
Please note that after removing the battery pull tab the Nuki Door Sensor is already in maintenance mode. You can connect it immediately via the Nuki App.
You already set up the Door Sensor paired it with a Smart Lock? Simply press the tamper button on the back of your Door Sensor for at least 10 seconds until the light on the Door Sensor flashes. Now just follow the instructions in the Nuki App. - Mount the Door Sensor: Once you have connected the Nuki App and sensor, place the Door Sensor on the mounting plate attached to the door frame. The Door Sensor automatically exits maintenance mode after three minutes.

Calibrate the Door Sensor: During calibration, the Door Sensor measures the magnetic field strength of the magnet when the door is closed, ajar and open. Your Door Sensor therefore learns to recognize the different door statuses.
Please move the door slowly during the individual calibration steps. The Door Sensor needs to detect the change in magnetic field strength.
Note:
- The marking on the sensor shows you which side of the sensor should be facing the magnet.
- Make sure that the distance between the sensor and the magnet is always between 0.5 cm and 3 cm.
- The edge of the Door Sensor that is furthest away from the sensor's LED should be at the same height as the bottom edge of the magnet.
