Allow links to be opened or complete linking manually
To open the Alexa app on your smartphone automatically, allow the Nuki app to open links in the settings of your smartphone. Alternatively, open the Alexa app manually and complete the linking of Nuki and Alexa directly in the Alexa app.
The Nuki app needs the permission to open URLs that start with nuki.io. This way, the linking of Nuki and Alexa can be completed by automatically redirecting you to Alexa.
To check this permission, do the following:
- Open "Settings" on your smartphone and select "Apps". Please note that this path may vary depending on the manufacturer or Android version.
- Open the settings of the Nuki app and open "Open by default".
- Under "Open supported links" define that links from nuki.io are always opened. Click on "Always allow".
Samsung browser: Check your browser settings
If you use the Samsung browser on your smartphone, the feature "Open links in other apps" may not be activated. Direct linking in the app is only possible if this setting has been activated.
To check the browser settings, proceed as follows:
- Open the Samsung browser
- Go to "Settings" > "Useful features"
- Enable the slider "Open links in other apps"
